The Romanian Orthodox Church Patriarch has petitioned the Romanian Chamber of Deputies for it to declare November 30, the feast of St. Apostle Andrew, as a new annual legal public holiday.

Recall that in 2008, 2 new weekday public holidays were added to the official list of Romanian public holidays; Pentecost Monday (2008-03-18) and the feast of the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God, also know as the Assumption, on August 15 (2008-10-09), also at the request of His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church (2008-08-19).
