The Government of St Helena, has announced that the 2011 HM Queen's Birthday public holiday would be moved from its gazetted date of Monday, April 18, to Maundy Thursday, April 21, 2011, to create a 5-day weekend when combined with this year's late Good Friday and Easter Monday public holidays.
This is the second change to 2011 St Helena public holidays announced, so far. Recall that, last summer, the day in lieu for the 2011 St Helena's Day public holiday was declared for the Friday before (2010-08-11).
Note that the region of Tristan da Cunha observes HM Queen's Birthday public holiday under a slightly different name and earlier in the year (2010-04-08, 2009-03-27, 2008-03-24 and 2007-03-31), than in Saint Helena and Ascension Island.
