UAE Extends Prophet's Birthday Public Holiday

Earlier today, the UAE's Ministry of Labour announced that Thursday, February 17, 2011, had been declared a public holiday for the private sector.

Late last month (2011-01-31), the Minister of Education and Chairman of the he UAE's Federal Authority for Human Resources (FAHR), Humaid Mohammad Obaid Al Qutami, had already announced that the upcoming one-day public holiday for the Prophet's Birthday would be moved from February 15 to Thursday, February 17, 2011, for all ministries and federal bodies.
