A bill has been introduced into the Uruguayan House of Representatives to restore the annual, October 19, regional non-working public holiday in Uruguay's region of Atlántida.
The bill introduced by representative José Carlos Mahía would coincide with the upcoming 100th anniversary of the seaside resort of Canelones.
There are no annual regional public holidays in Uruguay, but some one-off regional public holidays have occurred in the past (2007-06-18).
