The Algerian government has not yet announced whether it will declare a one-off non-working public holiday on May 10, on account of the upcoming elections.

The issue crops-up this year because, in the past, Thursday polling days coincided with then Algerian weekend. However, since then (2009-07-24), Algeria changed its weekends from Thursday-Friday to the "mixed" or "semi-universal" Friday-Saturday weekend.
