Bermuda's Minister of Economy Trade and Industry, Patrice Minors, has announced that his ministry would be formally considering changing the date on which Bermuda officially celebrates the annual Labour Day non-working public holiday from its current September observance to May 1st.
The aforementioned review by the Government of Bermuda of the date of the annual non-working public holiday for Labour Day made at the behest of the Bermuda Trade Union Congress, will be tabled before the Labour Advisory Council.
Contrary to the Heroes' Day and Queen's Birthday public holidays which were often moved around (2007-09-19, 2008-03-16, 2009-05-09, and 2009-05-24), the Bermuda Labour Day public holiday has remain fixed in September for decades.
