Canada Regional Public Holiday Revision

(Posted on Saturday, May 5, 2012)

The Government of Canada's Province of Saskatchewan has announced a sweeping review of labour legislation in Saskatchewan, including the question of whether the province has the appropriate number of public holidays.

Interestingly, the aforementioned revision comes at a time when the Family Day public holiday, introduced by Saskatchewan and Alberta in the 1990's, is making headway in many of the other Canadian Provinces (11-Oct-2007, 26-Sep-2007, 27-Nov-2008, 24-Apr-2009, 03-Feb-2011, and 05-Oct-2011).
