India 2013 Tamil Nadu Public Holidays Released

The Government of India's state of Tamil Nadu has announced the days which will be non-working public holidays for the upcoming calendar year 2013.

As per custom (2012-08-08, 2011-10-25, 2010-11-02 and 2009-10-19), the aforementioned announcement, contained in the G.O.Ms. No. 981, states that the listed dates are "in addition to Sundays expressly defined as public holidays" although public holidays falling fall on Saturdays and Sundays have been indicated in the above list "for easy reference".

The list of Tamil Nadu non-working public holidays for the calendar year 2013 does not include any odd dates, contrary to last year's announcement of the 2012 public holidays (2011-10-25) which were subsequently amended 3 times (2012-01-19, 2012-03-03, and 2012-08-08).

One interesting aspect of the Tamil Nadu list of non-working public holidays for the upcoming calendar year 2013, is that it once again confirms (2012-08-01, 2012-06-10 and 2012-06-11) the date for Tamil Deepavali as Saturday, November 2, 2013, in contrast to the incorrect date announced earlier this year for Singapore (2012-04-09).
