Macedonia's Ministry of Labour and Social Policy has announced that Thursday, October 25, 2012, would be a non-working public holiday "for the believers of the Muslim religion in the Republic of Macedonia" on account of the upcoming Eid al-Adha (Feast of Sacrifice).

The above announcement is in line with the Macedonian Ministry of Labour and Social Policy's official list of 2012 public holidays in Macedonia, as published last fall (2011-11-03), and, more generally with the Law on Holidays of the Republic of Macedonia (Official Gazette, and br.21/98 7.18) as last amended in 2007 (2007-02-08).

Note that this early date for Eid al-Adha follows the Turkish DIB Muslim calendar, a trend that has emerged in the Balkans in the past 2-3 years.
