Moldova's Labour, Social Protection and Family Minister, Valentina Buliga, has announced that Monday, April 30, 2012, had been declared a one-off non-working public holiday in Moldova on account of the upcoming International Labor Day public holiday.
Late last year (2011-12-08), when the official list of 2012 Moldovan public holidays was released, we surmised that we could expect bridge public holidays to be declared on Friday, March 9, 2012, and on Monday, April 30, 2012.
And indeed, a couple of months ago (2012-02-22), the Moldovan Cabinet of Ministers did declare Friday, March 9, 2012, a one-off non-working public holiday will be compensated by Saturday, March 3, 2012, being declared a regular working day in Moldova.
As usual (2012-02-22, 2011-02-18, 2010-08-10, 2009-12-04 and 2008-12-10), the aforementioned decision by the Moldovan Cabinet of Ministers to declare Monday, April 30, 2012, a one-off non-working public holiday will be compensated by Saturday, May 5, 2012, being declared a regular working day in Moldova.
