Moldova's Labour, Social Protection and Family Minister, Valentina Buliga, has announced that Friday, March 9, 2012, had been declared a one-off non-working public holiday in Moldova on account of the upcoming International Women's Day public holiday.
Late last year (2011-12-08), when the official list of 2012 Moldovan public holidays was released, we surmised that we could expect bridge public holidays to be declared on Friday, March 9, 2012, and on Monday, April 30, 2012.
As usual (2011-02-18, 2010-08-10, 2009-12-04 and 2008-12-10), the aforementioned decision by the Moldovan Cabinet of Ministers to declare Friday, March 9, 2012, a one-off non-working public holiday will be compensated by Saturday, March 3, 2012, being declared a regular working day in Moldova.
