The government of Nigeria's Kaduna State has declared tomorrow, Monday, December 17, 2012, as a one-off state public holiday following the death of the Governor of Kaduna State, Patrick Yakowa, in a helicopter crash.

One-off state public holidays are relatively common in Nigeria (09-Nov-2012, 08-Jul-2012, 09-Jun-2012, 25-Apr-2012, and 09-Apr-2012).
