The Governor of Nigeria's Plateau State, Jonah Jang, has declared 2 non-working public holidays, Monday and Tuesday, July 9 and 10, 2012, to mourn the dead in Plateau State's recent wave of violence.
Two years ago (2010-10-08), under better circumstances, Plateau State had declared a state public holiday to allow citizens go out en-mass to welcome and honour President Goodluck Jonathan on his two day official visit to the state.
