Oman's minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal bin Saud Al Busaidi, has announced the dates for the upcoming non-working public holidays observed, as usual, after the official Omani 2-day National Day.
As per the aforementioned announcement, Tuesday and Wednesday, November 27 and 28, 2012, have been declared non-working public holidays for the Omani public sector, which then will be on weekend the adjoining Thursday and Friday, for a total of 4 consecutive days of public holidays for the Omani public sector.
The private sector, for its part, will be off on Wednesday and Thursday, November 28 and 29, 2012, which have been declared non-working public holidays for the Omani private sector, followed by the private sector's Friday weekly day of rest, meaning a total of 3 consecutive days of public holidays for the Omani private sector.
The dates of Oman's National Day, November 18-19, are by tradition regular working days (2009-11-18), and the actual dates of the corresponding public holidays dates are announced at the last minute for a later date (2011-11-19, 2010-12-11, 2009-11-20, 2008-11-17, 2007-11-13, and 2006-11-16).
