The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has declared Tuesday, May 1st, 2012, as a bank holiday on account of the upcoming Labour Day holiday.
The details of the aforementioned announcements are contained in a "BPRD Circular Letter" released earlier today and is based on the fact that Tuesday, May 1st, 2012, had already been declared as a non-working public holiday by the government of Pakistan, earlier this year (2012-01-15).
As per custom, under similar circumstances (2011-12-30), the aforementioned announcement states that all banks/DFIs/MFBs will remain closed for public dealing on that date.
