The Philippines House of Representatives has approved, on third and final reading, a bill which declares March 8 an annual non-working public holiday in the Philippines to commemorate "National Women's Day".

Recall that, earlier this week (07-Mar-2012), Malacañang, Philippine's presidential palace, had issued a statement confirming that Thursday, March 8, 2012, would not be a non-working public holiday in the Philippines.
