Philippines' President, Benigno Simeon Aquino III, has issued a proclamation declaring Monday, December 24, 2012, an additional non-working public holiday throughout the Philippines.

As per the aforementioned announcement, the declaration of this additional non-working public holiday throughout the Philippines is due to the fact that Monday, December 24, 2012, falls between a weekend and the December 25 annual public holiday which was itself included as a non-working public holiday as per Proclamation No. 295, s. 2011, signed by President Aquino late last year (01-Dec-2011), listing the special and regular public holidays in the Philippines for the calendar year 2012.

Earlier this week (02-Apr-2012), President Aquino also issued Proclamation No. 360, s. 2012 declaring the upcoming Black Saturday, on April 7, 2012, as a non-working public holiday in the Philippines.
