The Romanian Government adopted yesterday a resolution declaring Monday, December 24, and Monday December 31, 2012, as additional one-off non-working public holidays in Romania.
As is common in such cases (2012-04-26) when bridge public holidays are declared in Romania, the aforementioned one-off non-working public holidays on December 24 and 31, 2012, will be compensated by the declaration of Saturday, January 12, and Saturday, January 19, 2013, as regular working days in Romania.
Five years ago (2007-12-13), Romania's Prime Minister had similarly declared Monday, December 24, 2007,as a one-off, bridge public holiday, albeit only for the public sector and, similarly, in compensation, Saturday, January 12, 2008, had been declared a regular working day in Romania.
