The Sint Maarten Labour Department has signed off on a list of the Sint Maarten public holidays dates for 2012.
The aforementioned list does not, yet, include a public holiday on July 1st.
A draft law to make Emancipation Day, on July 1, into a new annual public holiday in Sint Maarten narrowly missed being in effect last year (2011-06-18 and 2011-06-03) although the Sint Maarten Council of Ministers eventually decided to declare a one-off public sector holiday and give all government workers the day off on Friday, July 1, 2011, on account of that year's Emancipation Day (2011-06-29).
