The South African Government Communication and Information System has issued an announcement to remind all that Monday, April 30, 2012, is not one of the official South African non-working public holidays announced for the calendar year 2012.
The aforementioned announcement confirms the official list of 2012 non-working public holidays. based on the Public Holidays Act, Act No 36 of 1994, and announced 2 years ago (2010-03-26).
However, as is often the case when a fixed-date public holiday falls on a Tuesday or a Thursday, rumours are rife that the preceding Monday, or following Friday will be declared an additional non-working public holiday.
