(Posted on Thursday, April 5, 2012)

Source: South African Government Communication and Information System (GCIS)

The South African Government Communication and Information System has issued an announcement to remind all that Monday, April 30, 2012, is not one of the official South African non-working public holidays announced for the calendar year 2012.

The aforementioned announcement confirms the official list of 2012 non-working public holidays. based on the Public Holidays Act, Act No 36 of 1994, and announced 2 years ago (26-Mar-2010).

However, as is often the case when a fixed-date public holiday falls on a Tuesday or a Thursday, rumours are rife that the preceding Monday, or following Friday will be declared an additional non-working public holiday.
