Swaziland's Home Affairs Minister, Chief Gcokoma, has announced that Friday, April 20, 2012, had been declared a non-working public holiday throughout Swaziland to celebrate King Mswati III's birthday.

The usual date for the King's Birthday annual public holiday should have been Thursday, April 19, 2012, but as per the aforementioned communique, Thursday, April 19, 2012, will be a regular working day in Swaziland, in compensation for Friday, April 20, 2012, having been declared a non-working public holiday.

Such last-minute announcements of non-working public holidays dates is common in Swaziland, although these last-minute announcements of public holidays dates are usually tied-in to the traditional/religious public holidays of Umhlanga and Incwala (2011-12-09, 2011-06-16, 2010-12-21, 2010-08-12,...).
