The Chief Minister of the Government of Malaysia's state of Terengganu, Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Said, has announced that Sunday, July 22, 2012, would be a one-off non-working public holiday throughout Terengganu State.
The reason for the need to declare a Sunday, non-working, public holiday, is that in 3 of Malaysia's States (Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu), the weekly day of rest is Friday, and that, as such, Sundays are normally regular working days (2005-06-21).
