The Armenian Government has announced that it had declared Monday, August 19, 2013, as another, one-off, non-working public holiday in Armenia on account of the upcoming Feast of the Assumption of Mary.
Five years ago (2008-06-26), the Armenian Government began the practice of systematically declaring public holidays for each of the "Commemoration Days of All the Departed" feasts of the lord of Armenian Apostolic Church (2010-04-01, 2010-07-09, 2010-08-13, and 2010-09-10).
Then, late last year (2012-12-21), the Government of Armenia announced the list of 2013 official public holidays in Armenia which enshrined the practice of declaring public holidays for each of the "Commemoration Days of All the Departed" feasts of the lord of Armenian Apostolic Church.
As is usually done in similar cases (2012-07-06, 2012-06-23, 2012-04-18, 2012-04-06, and 2012-03-02), the aforementioned non-working public holiday of Monday, August 19, 2013, will be compensated by Saturday, August 24, 2013, being declared a regular working day in Armenia.
