The government of Guyana has announced that the upcoming Youmun Nabi, birth anniversary of the Prophet, public holiday, would be observed as a non-working public holiday on Thursday, January 24, 2013.
The aforementioned announcement comes shortly after the announcement by Guyana's Central Islamic Organisation (CIOG.) that the Muslim month of Rabiul-Awal had begun, and is in line with the dates of the annual non-working public holidays in Guyana for the calendar year 2013, as announced by the Guyana Government Information Agency, earlier this month (2013-01-07).
