The Office of Communication of the Presidency of Haiti has announced that Haiti's President, Michel Martelly, had issued a Presidential Order declaring Saturday, January 12, 2013, as a "day of remembrance and reflection dedicated to the memory of the victims of the earthquake of January 12, 2010".

However, contrary to what was decreed in past years (2012-01-11 and 2010-02-10), the aforementioned "day of remembrance and reflection dedicated to the memory of the victims of the earthquake of January 12, 2010" will not be a one-off non-working public holiday in Haiti in 2013.
