The Office of Communication of the Presidency of Haiti has announced that Haiti's President had issued an Executive Order declaring Monday and Tuesday, July 29-30, 2013, as additional one-off non-working public holidays to coincide with the upcoming Carnaval des Fleurs 2013.
As per the aforementioned Executive Order, the public holiday of Monday, July 29, 2013, will begin at 12:00 noon, while the public holiday of Tuesday, July 30, 2013, will be a full-day non-working public holiday for all sectors of the Haitian economy ("Sont déclarées fériées et chômées aux fins des festivités du Carnaval des Fleurs: 1. La journée du lundi 29 Juillet 2013, à partir de midi ; 2. La journée du mardi 30 Juillet 2013 dans son intégralité.").
When the "Carnaval des Fleurs" was revived last year (2012-07-25), we wondered if this new Carnival was meant to replace the traditional one early in the year (2012-02-15), but since then a February Carnival was also declared earlier this year (2013-02-03).
