The government of Honduras has announced which of the 3 annual October 2013 public holidays will be moved to the nearest Monday, and which ones will remain on their set date.
Once again (2012-10-06, 2012-10-01, 2011-09-30), the aforementioned government announcement specifies that the observance of the October 12 (Día de la Hispanidad) and October 21 (Army Day) annual public holidays of Honduras will be remain on their respective set dates, as per the 2003 decree 50-2003 moving some of the fixed-date public holidays to the following Monday (2003-04-09).
It also confirms last month's (2013-09-24) decision moving the date of the upcoming, October 3, Día del Soldado, annual non-working public holiday to Friday, October 11, 2013, to coincide with the upcoming football game between Honduras and Costa Rica, as was done last year (2012-10-06 and 2012-10-01) when the Día de la Raza public holiday was first moved from its fixed annual date of October 12 to October 15, and then to Tuesday, October 16, 2012, to coincide with the Honduras qualification match against Canada.
