Ireland's National Employment Rights Authority (NERA) has issued a statement ruling-out the possibility of Monday, March 18, 2013, being declared a public holiday in Ireland to compensate the fact that the Saint Patrick's Day annual public holiday falls on a Sunday in 2013.

As per the aforementioned communique from the National Employment Rights Authority, "This year St. Patrick's day falls on a Sunday. Monday 18th March is not a public holiday and is a normal working day.".

Note that March 18th, however, will be a bank holiday in Ireland as Irish bank normally observe day in lieu public holidays when a fixed-date annual public holiday falls on a weekend (14-Jan-2013).
