The Kuwaiti Civil Service Commission has announced that it had declared Thursday, January 24, 2013, as a the date of this year's Kuwaiti non-working public holiday for the birthday of Prophet Mohammad.
Contrary to some past years (2012-01-19, 2011-02-15 and 2011-01-22), the upcoming public holiday for the birthday of Prophet Mohammad was not moved to another date due to a conflicting weekend.
In related Kuwaiti public holidays news, sources near the Kuwaiti Cabinet have also indicated that the Kuwaiti Cabinet was expected to declare Sunday, February 24, 2013, as a one-off bridge public holiday in Kuwait, as it would bridge the gap between the February 25/26 National Day and Liberation Day public holidays, and the preceding Friday/Saturday Kuwaiti weekend.
