After tonight's meeting of the Kuwaiti Crescent-Moon Sighting Committee, the Kuwaiti Crescent-Moon Sighting Committee declared that Thursday, August 8, 2013, would be the first day of the Eid Al-Fitr and hence of the upcoming End of Ramadan public holidays in Kuwait.
At the end of last month (2013-07-28), The Kuwaiti Head of Civil Service Commission (CSC), Mohammad Al-Roumi, had announced that the extent of the non-working public holidays due to the upcoming Eid Al-Fitr will be four days.
However, at that time, and contrary to what happened in past years (2012-08-13 and 2011-08-22), the exact dates for the non-working public holidays due to the upcoming Eid Al-Fitr have not yet been definitely set ("if the first day of Eid is on Thursday August 8, work will resume from the following Monday; else, if it falls on Friday, the work will resume from following Tuesday").
