The Association of Banks in Lebanon has announced that Monday, May 6, 2013, had also been declared a bank holiday for all banks and financial institutions of Lebanon, including the Beirut Stock Exchange and the Central Bank of Lebanon, to commemorate Orthodox Easter Monday.

The communique by the Association of Banks in Lebanon follows last week's announcement (2013-04-26) by Prime Minister Najib Mikati, declaring Monday, May 6, 2013, as a non-working public holiday.

The aforementioned announcement thus amends the list of official Lebanese bank holidays for the calendar year 2013 which was released at the end of last year (2012-11-30).
