The Prime Minister of Lebanon, Najib Mikati, has issued an administrative memorandum declaring Saturday, February 9, 2013, as a non-working public holiday in Lebanon.

The aforementioned announcement is in line with the list of official Lebanese non-working public holidays for the calendar year 2013 which was released (2012-11-30) at the end of last year.

No mention has yet been made by the government of Lebanon as to whether the upcoming February 14, the anniversary of the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, would be declared a public holiday, as it has been almost every year since the assassination (2007-02-13, 2008-02-09, 2009-02-10, 2011-02-10, and 2012-02-08), with February 14 falling on a Sunday in 2010.
