Macedonia's Ministry of Labour and Social Policy has announced that the recently-declared 11th Tree-Planting national non-working public holiday, on Wednesday, November 27, 2013, would be compensated by the declaration of Saturday, November 30, 2013, as a regular working day in Macedonia.
Last week (2013-11-23), Macedonia's Ministry of Labour and Social Policy had announced the declaration of Wednesday, November 27, 2013, as the 11th Tree-Planting national non-working public holiday for the citizens of the Republic of Macedonia.
However, at that time, and contrary to previous occasions (2011-11-22, 2011-03-28, 2010-11-17, 2010-03-28, 2009-11-12, 2008-11-18, and 2008-03-12), but as was the case last year (2012-11-15), no mention was made that this additional non-working public holiday would be compensated by a nearby Saturday being declared a regular working day.
Wednesday, November 27, 2013, was the 11th such "Tree Day - Plant Your Future" public holiday since 2008. Usually one is held in the spring and one in the fall (although the spring 2009, 2012, and 2013 tree planting days were held on Saturdays).
