Mexico's Asociación de Bancos de México (ABM) and Comisión Nacional Bancaria y de Valores (CNVB) have jointly announced that Monday, September 16, 2013, would be a bank holiday throughout Mexico.

The aforementioned announcement is in line with the official list of Mexican 2013 bank holidays ("los días en que las instituciones de crédito deberán cerrar sus puertas y suspender operaciones") which were gazetted in the Diario Oficial de la Federación at the end of last year (21-Dec-2012) and the 2006 changes to Mexico's public holidays legislation (17-Jan-2006).
