The Mongolian government has re-confirmed the date for the upcoming 2013 Chinggis Khaan public holiday as Monday, November 4, 2013.
The aforementioned announcement is in line with the revised date for the upcoming 2013 Chinggis Khaan public holiday which was re-issued by the Mongolian government last month (2013-09-25).
Originally, the date of the 2013 Chinggis Khaan public holiday had been announced as November 14, but as we immediately pointed-out, the correct date, based on the Tögs Buyant Mongolian lunar calendar, is November 4, 2013.
Last year (2012-10-28), the parliamentary commission on new laws of the Mongolian Parliament rejected in commission the addition of a new annual public holiday in Mongolia to commemorate the birthday of Chinggis Khaan (Genghis Khan), but the Mongolian Parliament went against this recommendation and, barely a fortnight later (2012-11-08), approved the addition of a new annual public holiday in Mongolia to commemorate the birthday of Chinggis Khaan (Genghis Khan).
Originally, the Government of Mongolia had wanted to mark the new public holiday for the birthday of Chinggis Khaan on November 14th, every year. But in the end, it was agreed that the new annual public holiday in Mongolia will occur on the first day of the first day of winter, according to the Mongolian Lunisolar calendar, that is to say Wednesday, November 14, in 2012.
The new Chinggis Khaan public holiday in Mongolia was compensated by the cancellation of the November 26 Independence Day public holiday, although this might not have been obvious to the population as November 21, 2012, was then declared a one-off non-working public holiday in Mongolia (2012-11-16).
