The Queen of the Netherlands, Queen Beatrix, has announced that she would abdicate on April 30, 2013, the date of the Dutch annual public holiday Konninginnedag celebrating her mother's birthday, in favor of Crown Prince Willem-Alexander Claus George Ferdinand who will be crowned King on the same day.

The Crown-Prince's birthday is on April 27, but it is not clear, yet, what will happen to the April 30th, annual public holiday in the Netherlands for the Queen's Birthday, as it is the birthday of Queen Juliana, the mother of Queen Beatrix (whose birthday is on January 31).
