The Minister of Interior of the Federal Government of Nigeria, Abba Moro, has announced that, as per custom, the Nigerian Government had declared 3, year-end, non-working public holidays in Nigeria for the end of the year 2013 and the beginning of 2014.

As per the aforementioned announcement, Wednesday and Thursday, December 25 and 26, 2013, have been declared as non-working public holidays throughout Nigeria "to commemorate the Christmas and Boxing Day Celebrations" while Wednesday, January 1, 2014, was declared a non-working public holiday throughout Nigeria "to mark the New Year".

Such announcements of year-end non-working public holidays in Nigeria are relatively common (17-Dec-2012, 21-Dec-2011, 17-Dec-2010, and 22-Dec-2009).
