Omani authorities have announced the dates of the upcoming Eid al Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) non-working public holidays for the private sector and the public sector, for the calendar year 2013.
As per a decision by Oman's Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court and Chairman of the Civil Service Council, Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal al Busaidy, the Eid al Adha public sector holidays for employees at ministries, public authorities and other government departments will run from Monday, October 14 until Thursday, October 17, 2013, inclusively. Such week long extensions of the Eid public sector holidays are common in Oman (2013-08-08, 2012-10-20, 2011-10-31, 2011-08-24, 2010-09-06 and 2009-09-17).
In a separate announcement, Oman's Minister of Manpower, Shaikh Abdullah bin Nasser al Bakri, issued a ministerial decision stating that the upcoming private sector, non-working, Eid al Adha public holidays will also run from Monday, October 14 until Thursday, October 17, 2013, inclusively.
The Central Bank of Oman (CBO) has not yet announced bank holidays for all the banks operating in the Sultanate of Oman for the upcoming Eid al Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) non-working public holidays.
