Omani Weekends Change May 1st

Oman's Sultan Qaboos bin Said has issued a royal decree directing that, beginning on May 1st, 2013, Oman would have Friday-Saturday as the weekend for both the public as well as the private sector.

The aforementioned decree also ordered equal holidays for both public as well as private sectors during the religious (Eid) and national public holidays.

This leaves only Saudi Arabia (2012-04-01) as a member of the GCC that still observes a Thursday-Friday weekend, as most other Muslim countries have shifted to the semi-universal weekend over the past decade (2012-02-01, 2010-11-25, 2009-02-17, 2007-08-04), though some have backtracked somewhat (2005-03-08 and 2007-12-13).
