The executive of Spain's autonomous region of the País Vasco has finally released its calendar of official regional public holidays (calendario laboral) for the upcoming calendar year 2014.

Despite recent discussions (2013-06-08 and 2013-05-26) in the local parliament aiming to replace the October 25 public holiday added to the list of official non-working public holidays of Spain's autonomous region of the País Vasco, the date of October 25 remains in the announcement of the calendario laboral 2014 for Spain's autonomous region of the País Vasco.

Three years ago (2010-04-23), the parliament of Spain's Autonomous Region of País Vasco had approved the declaration of October 25 as the "Día del País Vasco" (Euskadiko Eguna) to commemorate the anniversary date of the Statute of Gernika in 1979, and to be observed as a regional non-working public holiday beginning in 2011.

(BOPV de 19 de julio de 2013), released much later than last year (2012-05-16), the upcoming list of regional public holidays will include Easter Monday and October 25 (Día del País Vasco).

The oft-declared public holiday on July 25 (Santiago Apostol) is not included in 2014's list of official non-working public holidays of Spain's autonomous region of the País Vasco, as the January 6 public holiday, which fell on a Sunday in 2013, is back in 2014 in its stead.
