Following the recent announcement of the date of the upcoming birthday of the Prophet non-working public holiday on Friday, January 25, 2013, the government Pakistan's Provinces of Sindh has declared Thursday, January 24, 2013, as a one-off regional public holiday.

Earlier this month (2013-01-14), Pakistan's Ruyat-e-Hilal (moon sighting) committee announced that the upcoming month of Rabi-ul-Awaal would begin on January 14, meaning that the upcoming non-working public holiday in Pakistan marking the birthday of the Prophet will be on Friday, January 25, 2013.

The Pakistani Province of Sindh often extends the Prophet's Birthday non-working public by one day (2012-02-02 and 2011-02-14).

Note that the usual (2012-01-15, 2011-01-03 and 2009-12-24) announcement by Pakistan's Ministry of Interior, in consultation with Karachi's Meteorological Department, of the expected dates for public and optional holidays for the coming calendar year, have not yet been released for 2013.
