Pakistan Bank Holidays October 15-17

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has declared Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, October 15, 16, and 17, 2013, as bank holidays throughout Pakistan on account of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha (Feast of Sacrifice) annual public holidays in Pakistan.

As per custom, under similar circumstances (2013-08-13, 2013-07-10, 2013-06-28, 2013-04-29, 2013-02-02, 2013-01-23, 2012-12-31, 2012-11-06, 2012-07-18 and 2012-06-25), the aforementioned announcement states that all banks/DFIs/MFBs will remain closed for public dealing on that date.

The aforementioned date of October 15, 16, and 17, 2013, as a bank holidays throughout Pakistan on account of the Eid-ul-Azha public holidays is in line with the list of expected dates for non-working public holidays and optional holidays for the calendar year 2013 in Pakistan, as released by Pakistan's Ministry of Interior, in consultation with Karachi's Meteorological Department, earlier this year (2013-02-04).

In related news, the government of Pakistan's Province of Sindh has declared October 15, 16, 17 and 18 as public holidays on account of Eidul Azha.
