The Paraguayan head of presidential decrees has released a communique ruling-out the last-minute declaration of Wednesday, August 14, 2013, the date of the inauguration of President-elect Horacio Cartes, as a one-off non-working public holiday in Paraguay.

However, as per the list of official non-working public holidays for the calendar year 2013, as published earlier this year (2013-01-03), Thursday, August 15, 2013, will be a regular non-working public holiday in Paraguay.
