Philippines President, Benigno Aquino III, has signed Proclamation No. 655, s. 2013, which lists the annual special and regular non-working public holidays in the Philippines for the calendar year 2014.

The aforementioned announcement of the special and regular non-working public holidays in the Philippines for the calendar year 2014, comes later than last year (2012-09-01), although historically, the list of non-working public holidays in the Philippines for the coming year is often released much later (2011-12-01, 2010-12-20, and 2009-01-07).

Proclamation 655 is a de facto reversal of most, if not all, of the "holidays economics" provisions of Republic Act 9492, "An Act Rationalizing the Celebration of National Holidays".

The new annual public holiday for the Chinese New Year, which had been promised 2 years ago (2011-01-12 and 2011-01-03) is included in the list of special and regular non-working public holidays in the Philippines for the calendar year 2014.
