Philippines President, Benigno Aquino III, has signed Proclamation No. 656, s. 2013, which declares Monday, October 28, 2013, as an additional one-off non-working public holiday throughout the Philippines on account of the Synchronized Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Elections.

The date of the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections is traditionally declared as an additional one-off non-working public holiday throughout the Philippines (17-Oct-2007).
