The government of the United Republic Of Tanzania has announced that the upcoming Iddi El Fitry (End of Ramadan) non-working public holiday in Tanzania would be observed on Friday, August 9, 2013.

Earlier this year (2013-01-09), the government of the United Republic Of Tanzania had released the list of official non-working public holidays dates in Tanzania for the calendar year 2013, with an announced date of Thursday, August 8, 2013, for the upcoming Iddi El Fitry (End of Ramadan) non-working public holiday in Tanzania.

As is often the case (2013-01-23, 2012-01-04, 2010-12-30, 2009-10-27, 2009-03-04 and 2009-01-08), the dates of Muslim public holidays are much later than most of the other countries of Africa and the Middle East.
