Uganda's Prime Minister, Amama Mbabazi, has issued a press communique confirming that the government of Uganda had declared Wednesday, January 30, 2013, as the date of the upcoming NRM Day non-working public holiday in Uganda, instead of January 26, the date when the NRM public holiday is usually observed in Uganda.
As per the aforementioned press communique, signed by Mary Karooro Okurut, Uganda's Minister Of Information And National Guidance, "the 27th NRA/NRM Anniversary celebrations which were due to take place on Saturday 26th January 2013 have been postponed to Wednesday 30th January 2013." and "Accordingly government has declared Wednesday 30th January 2013 a public holiday to allow the nation to celebrate this day".
Late last week (2013-01-20), Uganda's Office of the President's Media Centre had issued a press release announcing that the government of Uganda had declared Wednesday, January 30, 2013, as the date of the upcoming NRM Day celebrations, but had left the issue of the date of the related non-working public holiday uncertain, stating that it remained to be determined whether the upcoming NRM Day non-working public holiday would also be moved from January 26 to January 30, 2013.
