The Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers has issued a decision, once again extending the upcoming 2014 Novruz non-working public holidays in Azerbaijan to 7 consecutive days.
As was done on past occasions (2013-02-14, 2012-02-21, 2011-02-23 and 2010-02-16), the annual, March 20-24, Novruz public holidays will be extended by 2 days. This means a consecutive period of 7 days of public holidays from Thursday, March 20, until Wednesday, March 26, 2014, inclusively.
In addition, as the annual March 8, Women's Day, public holiday in Azerbaijan falls on a Saturday in 2014, the Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers also announced that Monday, March 10, 2014, would be a one-off non-working public holiday in Azerbaijan.
These day in lieu public holiday are in line with the provisions of Article 105 of the Labor Code of Azerbaijan (2005-12-30).
