Azerbaijan 2014 Novruz Public Holidays Extended

The Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers has issued a decision, once again extending the upcoming 2014 Novruz non-working public holidays in Azerbaijan to 7 consecutive days.

As was done on past occasions (14-Feb-2013, 21-Feb-2012, 23-Feb-2011 and 16-Feb-2010), the annual, March 20-24, Novruz public holidays will be extended by 2 days. This means a consecutive period of 7 days of public holidays from Thursday, March 20, until Wednesday, March 26, 2014, inclusively.

In addition, as the annual March 8, Women's Day, public holiday in Azerbaijan falls on a Saturday in 2014, the Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers also announced that Monday, March 10, 2014, would be a one-off non-working public holiday in Azerbaijan.

These day in lieu public holiday are in line with the provisions of Article 105 of the Labor Code of Azerbaijan (30-Dec-2005).
