Bahrain's Prime Minister, Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, has issued a circular declaring Friday to Tuesday, October 3 to 7, 2014, as the annual non-working public sector holidays in Bahrain to mark the upcoming Eid Al-Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) public sector holidays for the Islamic year 1435.
As happened in past years (2012-10-23 and 2012-08-15), the aforementioned dates for Eid Al-Adha in Bahrain straddle the Bahrain weekend of Fridays and Saturdays (2006-08-02), and therefore the circular specifies additional, day in lieu, public sector holidays to be observed.
In fact, though employers are free to be more generous than the circular specifies, the Bahrain private sector will not get Arafat Day on Friday, October 3, 2014, as a non-working public holiday as part of the upcoming Eid Al-Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) public holidays for the Islamic year 1435, nor on the last day, Tuesday, October 7, 2014.
