Bangladesh's National Moon Sighting Committee and Religious Affairs Committee has announced that the moon of the month of Shaban had been sighted in Bangladesh's sky earlier tonight and therefore that the upcoming Shab-e-Barat (night of fortune and forgiveness) would be observed on Friday, June 13, 2014, to be followed by the corresponding annual non-working public holiday in Bangladesh.
Note that the aforementioned announcement is in line with the official list of 2014 non-working public holidays in Bangladesh, as contained in the DFIM Circular Letter of the Ministry of Public Administration, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh (2013-11-15), as the non-working public holiday related to the Shab-e-Barat is observed on the day which follows the Shab-e-Barat in Bangladesh.
